How Tarot Major Arcana Connect to Minor Arcana: Soul Cards and Their Lessons on the Ground *New start date Sunday, March 5, 2-3:30 pm PST over zoom. Offered by Antioch University Continuing Education. Sign up here.
Come join a sequential journey through the Soul cards in the tarot…otherwise known as the Major Arcana, and learn how each Soul card is connected to four Daily life cards…otherwise known as the Minor Arcana. The journey is as much about discovering the fertile variety of images deck-makers across time use to express each Soul card and each Daily Life card as it is about the individuals meeting in the heart-space we create to travel through the tarot deck.
You simply bring yourself, your open heart, a blank journal, and your favorite tarot deck. Or if you are completely new to the tarot, you can use the cards I provide every class for you to explore. You have the opportunity to use a tarot journaling method to seed writing across forms and the opportunity to create personal tarot card art. For an understanding of the class structure and harvest of work, watch this recording of A Tarot Garden of Ancestor Verses, featuring art and writing we made while using the tarot to connect to the family tree all of 2022.
The Invitation:
Begin or deepen your exploration of the tarot in this series of 22 six-week courses that can be taken singly or sequentially. We will study each of the 22 Major Arcana cards (from O The Fool card to XXI The World card) and the four numerically linked Minor Arcana cards that express the opportunities and lessons of each Major. These courses start this coming Sunday and will travel through 2023 and 2024. Again, you can join for the entire journey, or sign up specifically for the course that focuses on a Major Arcanum card calling to you.
Course 1: The Magician’s opportunities and lessons on the ground: the Ace of Cups, Ace of Wands, Ace of Disks, and Ace of Swords. Creating the extraordinary with the ordinary.
This gentle and nurturing course explores the Magician (Arcanum I) and how the Magician uses the ordinary four elements to create extraordinary experiences through the four Aces.
How do we create magical experiences of the heart (Ace of Cups)? How do we create magical experiences using our creativity (Ace of Wands)? How do we create magical experiences through making physical objects and nurturing wealth (Ace of Disks)? And how do we create magical experiences using our minds (Ace of Swords)? These are the kinds of in-depth questions we will address in writing and discussion.
Tarot cats and kittens welcome in the zoom room!
